Technical Co-founder Needed

Hello,I will start this off by introducing myself I am a 20-year-old college student. I always had a thing for business and tried to start many businesses from e-commerce to selling printer inks locally. I have this idea for an app that I feel could be something much bigger. I have evaluated the market and notice one other app doing this but they aren't using this opportunity. All investors especially seed investors look for a good team, that why I'm here because I want to find other hardworking entrepreneurs. These positions won't be paid but you will receive shares. I need 1 to 2 technical engineers who have solid programming knowledge. I will take care of the business plan, startup capital, finding investors, and many other things. All you have to do is know how to build software like messenger apps. If you are interested please let me know. How do I buy a bar?

A local bar in my hometown just closed down due to the pandemic. I figured this was the perfect opportunity to entertain my life long dream of owning a bar here. I want to get started but I have no idea where to start. I have so many questions like:when/if the building will be for sale.who to contact about buying.what licenses are needed?etc. Can anyone give me any advice for a first-time business owner trying to accomplish something HUGE!!? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Startup funding questions

If you are raising a funding round totaling $50k, and it comes from a group of investors paying different amounts, such as 3 investors put in $10k and 4 investors put in $5k.If you only want to give up a maximum of 10% equity, how is everything structured and allotted (equity-wise)? Does every investor agree to a specific percentage and then it totals 10% or is it done in another way? Also, would a SAFE document be the best to use, and if so, which version? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

What are some free or cheap ways to get a reliable business phone number?

I've checked into a lot, freedompop, textnow, textfree, talku, dingtone, and going through their reviews I can see a variety of problems with them. I've also heard of twilio, but I think it's for developers and I'm not a developer. I'm also in Canada so I can't use google voice, which only gives a free number for the US.Are there any free or cheap ways to get a reliable business phone number for calling and receiving calls? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Tech Startup

Hey all, started a site mainly determined to promote myself as a side-gig doing IT projects on the weekend or after typical working hours on weekdays. My idea quickly turned to me attempting to launch a small tech startup in my local town. I’m still working on the website and haven’t done much. I was wondering if I should continue with the tech startup or focus the site around myself as an individual. Thoughts? Comments? Note: I live in a small town that isn’t high tech wise. But I live about 30 minutes outside Dallas TX. I’d say I’m one of the fair few tech spots in my town and local area. Also, I’ve only ever seen 1 computer repair shop. Should I check them out and poke to see how well they do business wise? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Side Hustle idea: BBQ Seasoning Manufacturer Outsourcing in Canada

Today has been one of those "I've got lots of ideas" day.I'm curious if anyone knows about seasoning manufacturers? I relatively simple search didn't yield anything, but essentially I'm wondering if I were to have a "rub recipe" that I wanted to sell, is there a manufacturer that could make a respectable quantity for me, to prevent me from need a commercial food facility kind of thing to make it myself?Does such a place or company exist?I appreciate any insight into this! Any business owners here who just outsource most of their work outside of admin and sales? Could you share some tips on how to run the business well when you dont really have control over the operations?

Lots of businesses seem to focus on sales and admin and then outsourcing the "real work" to third party companies (Chinese manufacturing, freelance coders, marketing etc). That said id yet to see a company doing this who arent running around like chickens with their heads cut off.I know well managed businesses with this business model exist id just like to hear some advice on how to do it well. Thanks! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Should I do it?

Hello all So this year I have been learning all about entrepreneurship and starting my own business. An idea of mine was to start an online headship, as I used to be a passionate smoker and I fell in love with the culture and art that is associated with weed (tray art, glass piece sculptures, the abstract designs). Unfortunately I backed away from the idea as I started to learn more about drug paraphernalia. I was afraid that my business would be crushed because there were too many laws regulating marijuana and apparently everything involved. I just don’t wanna get into legal trouble if I were to start this. It’s been a few months and I’ve come back to wanting it again. For those of you who have succeeded in having an online headshop, what did you do to ensure your business’ safety as well as your own. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

How to go about referrals for 3PL Fulfillment Services?

Disclaimer: I run a fulfillment center in Utah specializing in scaling small to mid-size businesses.I'm curious how one would go about both finding referrers and compensating for a referral service? In need of help with adding duplicate products in squarespace - not sure if this fits here but I’m desperate

Hi all,I am having trouble with adding multiple products on my e-commerce squarespace site.I have over 600+ photographs that I am selling in multiple dimensions and to duplicate all of them one by one is going to take forever. I know there is a .csv file that can be imported once filled out but has anyone done this previously? There are multiple areas on this example of the CSV form they offer that are missing / not the things I need for my site. I’ve searched on YouTube, sent in emails to squarespace, talked in the live chat multiple times, but I keep running into this issue and really don’t want to have to go through each and every item especially if there ends up being a cost upgrade or difference needed in the future.I’ve spent weeks researching this and if anyone has any idea please help me lolThank you so much see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

LLC or S-Corp in NY state?

I've been thinking of starting an online business for over a year. I would like to start an LLC, instead of an S-Corp, but NY has a weird publishing requirement that most states don't have. I like the simplicity of an LLC, but it seems like an S-Corp will be much cheaper to start. Ads in newspapers, yes newspapers, are required, and in NY state this is expensive. I have also seen YouTube videos suggesting creating a holding company with many baby LLCs underneath for separating out your business ideas. Anybody here started an LLC in NY state? The NYC business owners I know all have S-Corps. I am just outside of NYC, in Westchester. Thanks for any suggestions.Btw, I am also considering just starting my LLC in Nevada while living and working from NY, what do you think? This will be an entirely online business. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Do I NEED an LLC right now? Or should I hold off?

Hello all! Im in the market to sell custom socks! Im currently designing and tinkering around with designs, so im not selling yet. But, I already have my brand name, bought a domain, set up all social media accounts, theres just nothing on them right now. Im just confused, because it seems like you absolutely NEED one, but many, many shops on Etsy dont show that LLC next to their name? As well as, theres about a 60% chance i will be moving out of California by the end of the year, and If I get an LLC in the state of California, I dont want to pay the 800 fee, then turn around and refile for a foreign LLC. So my question is, when do I NEED an LLC? Should I get one now? Or should I get one when my shop is up and running? Thanks! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

[Case Study] From one side-hustle to another.

Hey hustlers,I created Open Startup List because I found the open startups culture intriguing. Founders that share openly about their marketing efforts, their failures or success, metrics like income and traffic, is just something that we as hustlers can learn a lot from.I built the initial version of OSL within a week, and put a lot of effort into marketing, added a blog section and grew rapidly.3 months after, I sold that project and made profit. This lead me to writing all of my journey's learning, challenges, small victories, and my key takeaways of each phase along the road, from "ideation" to creation, marketing and eventually to selling it on my own.I called the E-book Start With A Side-Project. I believe that everyone should try to generate some money from their side-projects and I believe my experiences can put people in the right direction. It's not a "get rich quick" guide. It's my experiences + some actionable advice based on those experiences.Happy hustling to everyone, and remember - “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” Robert Collier see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Running business without license driver

As a 17 stupid boy I used to drive a car without license (where is illegal in my country) I’ve been caught two times and they opened a case. Im not lucky and right now, because verdict is going to be when im 19 (thanks to court) I’ll be propably banned for 2/3 years from car license so here is my question - what would you do without it? Since my 17 I made a lot of plans and savings and I got a idea to finally start and make actions and learn by actions. For example I thought about cleaning service for start. Any idea how to run it or maybe you would suggest me any idea which I could run something without car license? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

SaaS: free to paid users ratio

Hi guys, currently working on a new website and running the numbers. I’m planning on having a free tier, besides paid plans. When going over the potential profits I’m stuck on how to determine how many paid users I can expect in comparison to free users.I realise this depends on numerous variables, but just to set a goal or to have some idea of an acceptable number I was wondering if there is such a thing as a generalSo in broad terms, should I plan for 1/100, 1/1000? Or should I just skip the free tier and work with trials? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Book recommendations for S.O. with not a gram of business acumen.

Hi all,My girlfriend has recently decided to start a side hustle, selling her artistic output online. Her birthday is coming up and I am considering gifting her a book on entrepreneurship but it has to be of a specific caliber because she has never had a business class in her life and any book that resembles an academic textbook will not be useful for her. She's quite creative and has an aversion to dry academic stuff, my thinking is that the "ideal book" is somewhat conceptual and helps the reader to apply their creativity to business problems, versus teaching one how to do a PESTLE analysis or how to write a banging business plan to get seed money.Would love to hear any suggestions for appropriate books that are not too academic/theoretical and that you think a newcomer could benefit from! Thanks! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

am I crazy? Trading an MBA degree from a top 10 school to start a landscaping business?

I’ve had a successful career in corporate America. Graduated from a top ten school for my MBA at the age of 32. Made it to middle management with a small team of direct reports. I’m 40 now. Back in May I was fired for breaking a company policy... devastating... but made me realize how unsatisfied I’ve been with work and the innate lack of impact I’ve had. Noticed how I’ve tried to compensate for this lack of satisfaction by watching the nasty and breaking company policies! I reflect on my “successful” 15 yr career and I realize I’ve had some good days but many many not-so-good days, and many years of lackluster performance. My last salary was very high and well into six digits. Meanwhile... I have always LOVED gardening, nature, landscaping, flowers, trees, etc. I’ve had a string of people in the last few months pay me thousands of dollars to trim and tend to their yards. I’m considering doing this full time... and launching a landscaping company.... Reddit folks am I crazy here?? I SAY that I’m not trading the MBA for a pair of hedge trimmers... that I’m actually using the MBA to build a world class enterprise with advanced operations management and vendor negotiation and a devoted landscaping workforce and seven figures in revenue. But... am i conveniently lying to myself? Am I crazy here? Can I actually find satisfaction AND money in doing this? Should I? Will I be able to meet or exceed my last salary? Am I just nuts and going through a midlife crisis? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Questions about hiring landscaping employees

I've been toying with the idea of starting a simple mow/trim/blow service company. (Including some other small services) in my area (Columbus Ohio). This would be a seasonal operation during the spring and summer months for the most part.I feel like I have a pretty good handle on operating a business. I already own/operate a web design and marketing company currently and feel like I have the skills in this realm to make something like this work in the next few years. However, I don't really have any experience in hiring staff, and I'm having a hard time finding info about what the industry standard is for hiring seasonal workers. I'd like to hire two person crew initially. What types of benefits are typical? Is it typical to hire 1099 contractors, or are they more often w-2 employees?I'm sure there are things I'm not considering, and I would love some feedback.Things I have considered-insurancemaintenance costsstorageequipmentvehicles see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

is Ikea a classic 'perfect' business model?

They have an incredibly low cost, so low they don't even assemble furniture for you. Their stores are in cheap locations. Also, the shopping experience is a perfect fit for mothers, families, and students. Many families would prefer to take their kids to ikea because their kids love it, and so do they. This business increase value by the fun experience they offer(does not cost extra money to do), and they reduce their cost of product to dirt cheap.A: lower cost as much as possible. B: increase value for customer as much as possible. Basically, make value by good experience because it cost very little (product design, product benefits, customer experience). Is the general idea success depends on these two things(decrease cost, increase value), in order to create the most valuable offer? Everything else is just a means to an end, I need to figure out how to optimize and use whatever I can to lower cost everywhere, and make the customer's experience more fun. What are your thoughts? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Any advice appreciated

Hey guys. I’m 20 years old, working a full time factory job manufacturing safety equipment. I am building a guitar teaching business that I am aiming to run full time should I reach my required number of students. Can anybody enlighten me on ways I can expand? I only have a couple of students at the moment. I have had quite a bit of interest but I believe the prices are the issue even though I only charge $15nzd for half an hour (already very cheap). I can’t justify dropping my prices further as if I was to do that I may as well stay at my factory job (no thanks). My other option I think is to keep private lessons at $15 per half and run group lessons at say $20 an hour with 2-4 students. But again, the money is going to be an issue.Any advice on how I can improve my situation would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Kill the adsets or keep them running? (Facebook ads)

Hey guys, so have been running some FB ads for a fashion brand and have been doing some testing with 10 diffrent audiences (using 1 ad creative) with $5/day per adset. The campaign is for "TOP of the Funnel" cold traffic. After the first 48 hours kept only the ones with good CPC (less than $2) and CTR. So far there have been 2 adsets running for about 6 days now with about $30 spent in each, and only 2 add to carts per each. Killed off all the other 7 adsets. The product is quite a bit on an expensive side ($150 CAD) and the margin is only about $70. With question being is do we keep these adsets running all the way until the breakeven point or just kill the entire campaign at this point? As per screenshot, we have spent $230 on just this TOP of the Funnel campaign alone and our mid and bottom funnel campaigns haven't made any sales either, so its been quite frustrating to say the least. We feel we've done some research into the audiences and optimized the hell out of the product page and website, and feel its a nice product with most sales so far being from organic social and word of mouth.Would quite appreciate some feedback.Ad account campaign screenshot: campaign screenshotP.s. can pm the link to website if interested. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Our business is already gaining traction and we haven't even started setting it out yet. Help!

Okay so I don't have any idea on starting a business. None at all. But they say when opportunity strikes, you gotta grab it. Is this already an option? Am I late to the game?

I was listening to a podcast about a guy that ran a lonely hearts scam. In the end, of course, he was tried and convicted, but the trial was interesting because of his victims. They all came forward and spoke on his behalf. They all admitted they knew they were being scammed but didn't really mind. They were lonely men that had nothing else to look forward to but a letter from a woman they all understood probably didn't exist.I know that all sorts of dating services have exploded in popularity the past few years, but is there any thing that just offers men correspondence only? I'm thinking the same gist of a lonely heart scam, just without the fraud part. A client signs up for letters, emails and texts. Agrees that outside of a monthly subscription, no other money is to change hands. They get to look through several profiles and decide which woman they would like to have contact with.Has anyone heard of anything like this? Thanks, in advance. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Working with a start up since it was just a homepage doing everything, can I ask to be a cofounder?

I’ve been working with this startup that a friend started during the last year since it was just a home page and a not fully developed idea. I initially started working on an hourly contractor basis with designing the website, then designing and shipping their app, now I’m working part time (contract basis as well) doing service design, along with product management and strategy, and leading their marketing, and whatever else needs to get done. The startup is bootstrapping and funded by the founder only. We have more than 1000 active users and it’s getting bigger by the week. We are a team of 3 (cofounder, myself, and another contractor doing 10hrs/week). We still haven’t monetized and planning to monetize and role out subscription model in Q4, and we are getting requests from all over the US to launch the service there so the prospects are looking really good. I imagine this service / company will be really large and successful in the future.Since it is bootstrapping there isn’t enough funds to hire me full-time with benefits and all. I love the company and what we do, and I’m pouring my soul into it.I was wondering if I can ask to be a cofounder? And how can I ask for that? Can I be a cofounder if I haven’t put money into it? - I really don’t want to miss this opportunity. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

Creating a radio station in 2020!

Hello,I'm currently a teenager looking for ways to make money. One of the things that I really like doing is listening to music, so the first thing that came to mind for me was to make a radio station. I deployed an Ubuntu VPS with Vultr and installed AzuraCast, a self-hosting radio client with a nifty and easy way to manage songs.I'm still in the process of setting all of this up, but a few things dawned on me while doing so. I'll mostly be playing very old or obscure/indie tracks since I can't pay for any licensing fees. Moreover, since I'm under 18, I cannot setup Google Adsense as a potential form of revenue.A bigger concern I'm having, is the belief that radio isn't very popular anymore. I'm not sure if I will get many listeners to my radio. Do you guys think it's worth it to continue? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

I want to start increasing revenue for my cleaning service, but I don't know how much I can increase my rates. Should I poll my current customers, creep up the price until interest dies down, or just wing it and set a price that seems fair to me?

Mostly I'm afraid that if I go passed the price people are willing to pay on first try, people will see that and move on, even if I reduce the rate in the future. My first ever step into business was last year. I started a residential cleaning service and charge $30/hr and 50¢/km driven. Vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, washing walls, etc. Sometimes I bring my partner and she washes windows for a seperate $30/hr. Even through recent economic downturn and COVID, I've been working a steady 35-40 hours a week, but I'm not really making enough money to be worth it at the moment. After taxes it's about $37,500 (income tax bracket puts me at 25%). I do no advertising, it's all word of mouth. I have a Facebook page and that's it. I want to maximize my personal earnings.I'm thinking if I started advertising and got a good website up, I'd have a ton more interest in the business, and could potentially find clients who are willing to pay more. Could I maybe advertise at a higher rate and if I find potential business, either raise rates for current clients or drop them in favor of the new higher paying clients? Seems like that way I could at least test the water without losing current business. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

'Turn-off' from your business once in a while to help it succeed

Everyone needs a creative outlet, a hobby and/or a pet project to maintain resilience and turn-off. This is key to not burning out. If your pet project is the business you're trying to build, then have something else you can turn to that will allow you to think of nothing. Believe it or not getting away from something entirely is essential to progressing it. My getaway is geometric art and watercolours. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy

How to delegate responsibility for tax settlements and regulatory compliance

I run the small business and want to concentrate on improving the ROI of the company and to get the tax settlement and regulatory compliance off my plate. Currently, I use the help of lawyers and accounting offices, but at the end of the day this is me who is responsible if something went wrong and not my advisors. What should I do to get rid of that, hire a CEO? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
