Started a Web Development Agency in India in 2021

Hi fellow Entrepreneurs,This is a Post outlining my struggles and lessons learnt while starting a Web Development Agency in India in 2021.BackgroundI had done my major in Science in one of the premier institutes of India. I had no background in Computer Science. However I had experience in competitive coding in platforms like Codeforces, HackerEarth, HackerRank, LeetCode etc. as I had to learn coding in order to get a job in a market like India.1st Business OpportunityMy parents were overweight and hence had joined a Health and Fitness community. This was in 2018. However when Covid19 hit, during March 2020, they found it very hard to continue their journey. The community found it very hard to do their daily operations. That is when I pulled one out of thin air and contacted the founder of this community if he wanted to build a Website to help ease operations. I had no idea how to build one, however I was quite confident I could help solve his problem. I was quite frank with him as well that I had no idea how to build a website. However he was willing to give me a chance under the condition that I had to expect nothing out of it. I agreed. At this point I must be quite thankful for Colt Steele for curating a course on Udemy called Web Developer Bootcamp. I sat and finished the course in 2 weeks. I followed along and coded everything from scratch. I pivoted and built the Health and Fitness Website on top of YelpCamp. What started as a simple login for users to then get a Zoom link then turned out to be a full fledged User Management System with Subscription based model alongwith an exhaustive analytics dashboard and reports. The founder was so impressed that he started giving me money. It has been almost 2 years and we have together spent about Rs.250000 to keep the Website running. This includes AWS charges as well as Sendgrid and MaytapiThis was my first Business opportunity during the peak of Covid19.FYI here is the Website I built for him - Wellness World1st MistakeWord spread and I started tweaking and repairing other peoples Websites. My cousin who is 25 years older than me asked me to make an edit and add Google AdSense to an already popular Website he owned. He had started his business the year I was born. His business is that old. I took the opportunity. It was a Wordpress Website. However I screwed up and removed the main css file. The Website which gets a minimum 100000 visitors per week went completely yellow for 4-5 hours. I was scared and was sweating like crazy. I somehow rectified it but it was still crappy. Thankfully my cousin had taken a Backup and he restored it the next day. This was my 1st mistake.FYI here is the Website I'm talking about. My cousin has been selling Electronic Goods for 20 years - EStorewaleHow 1st mistake led to another opportunityThe thing with mistakes are, they help us learn a lesson. The lesson is Its OK to do mistakes if you keep tryingMy cousin was very angry the first few days. But I kept doing Web Development. One day he invited me to a business meeting. It was BNI - Business Network International. This was another turning point in my career. I was so impressed by the proceedings that I decided to join a chapter the next week. This helped me establish my work much better. I incorporated my company with the help of a company secretary in my chapter.I went from Freelancer to Established Business.RevenueSo far it has been 3 months since I incorporated my business. I have not kept track of my freelance revenue.Time - 3 months.Revenue ~ Rs 100000These are not outrageous numbers but it is outrageous for me. If you had said 1 year ago that I would establish my own business, I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said I would earn this much in 3 months, 3 months ago, I would've laughed in your face. It proves 1 point. We underestimate what can be done over a year. We overestimate what can be done in a day. Here is my business - Codegres I build Websites and Apps for a living.LessonsI am still a very young Entrepreneur to give lessons. But 1 thing I read somewhere else is the Corridor PrincipleThe Corridor Principle states that the mere act of starting a venture enables entrepreneurs to see other venture opportunities they could neither see nor take advantage of until they had started their initial venture. This is very true. If I had not taken that 1st Business Opportunity, I wouldn't be here. When someone gives you an opportunity, tell YES.Read more about the Corridor Principle hereTLDRYes you can still build a Web Development Business in India in 2021 see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
