How much do you manage your strategy, and how do you recover from road blocks/emergency?

I know some people keep schedules every week where they look at the kpi/metrics, and objectives, also a bigger meeting is done quarterly, and annually. But for managing and looking after a strategy, in a small company do you look at it every day,week, month?For big road blocks where something unexpected happens how do quickly go back to your strategy and reformulate one, or do you take tweak the strategy?
