Toy consumer market/industry

Hey, I often like to research and take interest in different niches and industry’s.Recently I’ve been looking at the toy industry - what is current, what is outdated and what products seem to have an infinite life (nerf, lego etc). One thing that strikes me is that a few select toy companies control 95% of the top trending toys, ranging between lots of different products. Why is there such a sense of a monopoly in the toy industry, more so than other big consumer industries? And do small start up toy products/companies ever successfully enter into the market? Thanks!! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
