I made an animated summary of "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. I hope this is useful to you.

It makes a difference where and when we grew up. The culture we belong to and the legacies passed down by our forebears shape the patterns of our achievements in ways we cannot begin to imagine....”Takeaway Although the author acknowledges the vital role opportunity plays in the overall attainment of success, the opportunities Gladwell mentions do not relate significantly to chance, luck, or fate. Instead, they attest to becoming deliberate about creating and pursuing opportunities that help you engage in deliberate practice. As the author notes, when you are deliberate about creating and tapping into opportunities, the higher your chances of mastery and success.2: With commitment, anyone can become an outlierAfter researching the lives of Outliers, Gladwell concluded that in addition to having good parentage, conducive life situations and circumstances, the right social background and talents to mention but a few, they also have another thing going for them: they practice intense commitment, so committed in fact that the author’s research concluded that the people who achieve a great deal of success in their fields do so only after practicing their craft for 10,000-hours. On the 10,000 hour rule, Gladwell states that to achieve next-level success or mastery in any undertaking or chosen cause of action, you need to put in 10,000 hours of practice, with the effort directed to it being deep work, what the author calls deliberate practice. He observes: “Success has to do with deliberate practice. The practice must be focused, determined, and in an environment where there’s feedback.” Takeaway The most distillable lesson from Gladwell’s discussions of the 10,000-hour rule of mastery is that to achieve any level of success in your life or any undertaking, commit to its deliberate practice for at least 10,000 hours —more if you want to become a certified outlier.3: High IQ does not increase the chances of successOutliers: The Story of Success is Gladwell’s rallying call against the widely-accepted notion that significant accomplishments are a result of a high IQ. The author refutes this claim by noting that a high IQ does not matter as significantly as we have always thought it does. Instead, what matters the most, according to the author, is practical intelligence. On what practical knowledge is, the author states: “… Practical intelligence includes things like “knowing what to say to whom, knowing when to say it, and knowing how to say it for maximum effect.” To argue why a high IQ does not explicitly lead to success, the author relies heavily on research conducted in the early 20th century by professor Lewis Madison Terman, one of the pioneers of educational psychology. After observing 1,500 children with an IQ level of 150 and above, Terman concluded that even though IQ has some amount of influence on your performance in life, anything above an IQ of 120 points has no significant impact on the attainment of success.Takeaway The most poignant takeaway from Gladwell’s discussions on IQ and the role it plays in your ability to achieve a great deal of success in different areas of your life is that IQ is not as important as we have made it out to be. If you have an average IQ of 100+ points, but below 120 IQ points, you can still achieve a great deal of success —even outlier-level achievement— provided you commit to the 10,000 Hours rule and engage in deliberate practice. As Gladwell notes: “Success is a function of persistence and doggedness and the willingness to work hard for twenty-two minutes to make sense of something that most people would give up on after thirty seconds.”Conclusion If you have ever wondered how various elements influence your ability to achieve a great deal of success, Outliers: The Story of Success will help you answer this and other related questions you may have.I release new videos often, if you’re interested in subscribing here’s a link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfbLDMh6uGOZePAfqqjVZ-g?sub_confirmation=1I've made over 60 summaries of the best self improvement books, the links are below.Full playlist of them all here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOImyOGN9UE&list=PLaNTB6oQAa0AYuul0tqUscg1ZLj_arZgaHere are the links:Make Your Bed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7mBNcI2H1c The power of the subconscious mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNi9zDGaZtw Getting things done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCNN2pyO5Yc The power of intention: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ezM3fIKHTY Deep work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SOQpjHKESA The magic of thinking big: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdQRQ82AED8 The alchemist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcQjBghtxMU Blink: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rie9Pkp4Ktk Atomic Habits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6u0X0CDEqU The E-Myth Revisited: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctHTVZRnE7g Mindset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QU5Q3lyTqo The art of war: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_5qhA2y-E4 Rework: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsaZU-HW18k The lean startup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6QPZp--lJE The hard thing about hard things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yl_Q3E5d33U Crush it!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onbmkc-29KI Delivering Happiness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiUWCZkHbA8 The personal MBA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFpXccN3YEU The $100 startup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqa1LqahOLE Zero to One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGtQjkSUahc Grit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doUSy1Eo76s Start with why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgMnlf4jcYY The compound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nSIiAMnDY0 The Prince: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzVmhWFdwBQ The willpower instinct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz5EXLYxWDQ The slight edge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sItMk2xS_ZU Meditations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul2nuHOnCPI Who moved my cheese?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQhJkIPHiyw The One Thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS5lgHhbUoM The richest man in babylon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbnHlWFnWLs The power of habit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d366w-o8nhA Secrets of the millionaire mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1WjeoCw30g The 6 pillars of self esteem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5NRiB_-w10 The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nGzZ9m_Xsg Thinking Fast and Slow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqw9dwxiKSw The 4 hour work week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCWzSlAqO0g The power of positive thinking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAdxM_19KBc The power of now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa7mAlLhD3w Think and grow rich: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btQNKjSy8Ww 12 rules of life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9InBOOy1eTU The 5 love languages: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPq4Vxh74jY Rich Dad Poor Dad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV31Wpr2Fl8 How to win friends and influence people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s61o8y22BpM The inside out revolution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68OwvuqZEGo Models: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs0d7Da8ufo Man’s search for meaning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyXFQ5W0bMk The subtle art of not giving a fuck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOImyOGN9UE How to stop worrying and start living: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUQXrEk52Ug The millionaire fastlane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrtjXONWVfA 5 extremely powerful techniques to master motivation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmRzDIisUeM Quiet by Susan Cain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzRcYLq63dU Extreme Ownership: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMWeEyqWHe0 see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
