Steps to turn an idea for an app/website into a reality.

Hello All!New to this page, but I am really impressed with the insight given to people in their business ideas! I have an idea for an social media app/website. I'm not going to give too much information about it for obvious reason but I just don't know where to start to make my idea a reality. I'm currently just doing market research but what's next? Do I make a business plan and then find investors before I even approach an app/web designer? Do I get a patent first? I'm mainly doing this because I'm sure a lot of smart people here have designed apps or wondered how to get an app to market. Any insight would be amazing! Thank you guys. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
