Prior to the pandemic I was working in the Japanese entertainment industry as a "Jack-of-all-Trades" for a businessman (who we'll call Don). For visa and personal reasons, I had to move back home to Canada in January 2020, where I've been working as the IT Administrator at a small, 24/7 clinic my parents run. It's a decent gig and I can choose my own hours, but I'm utterly bored. I feel like I should be doing more, you know? But I have no idea how to monetize my vast amount of skills I've acquired over the last decade. Maybe someone here has an idea?My skillsetHistorian: Humanities degree in Classics & Ancient History. My area of interest is the Viking & Medieval Norse era, but I've also studied in great detail Greco-Roman, Egyptian, Japanese, and Mesopotamia history. In addition to history, I have studied various mythology, legends, folklore, linguistics and occultism in depth.Programming: Been programming since I was a child. Pretty language agnostic, but I prefer working with C, Ruby, Python, Java, or JavaScript depending on the task. I've built a couple MVP mobile and web apps for the businessman, as well as the technical hiring (and firing) of programmers.Cloud computing: I learned the basics of cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and the associated tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, ELK Stack) to save Don from paying a $150/hour consultant.Art: Working on art is probably my favourite hobby. I've done things with 3D modelling, music, digital and traditional art, metalworking, etc. My biggest problem is I usually delete my art after completion, because I don't feel like it's good enough to post on social media.Digital Marketing: I have knowledge of social media, PPC, content marketing, SEO, web analytics, Ads (Facebook, Google) and more. Not an expert by any means, but I can get by.Audio & Video Production: this was more of a side gig, but Don's son was an asipring youtube star, podcaster and rapper. I helped with Youtube management, video and audio editing, as well as mixing, mastering, and publishing his music. Unfortunately, the channel was deleted after his son gave up on his career and went to medical school.I have a few projects I'm working on (mobile/web app, crypto trading bot, and video game), I've considered taking on art commissions and a friend of mine suggested I start a full stack agency, but I'm wondering what Reddit has to say before I make any plans for a new venture. I'm in an okay place for money right now, but due to issues with my parents, I'd like to leave the clinic job ASAP. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
