Hi everyone,I know that we all have different problems in our business. I thank a lot of you for posting here with these issues.I thought that I'd let you know about a problem that I'm having that I find to be quit interesting.As some background, I develop software. I'm the sole founder of a company that has developed a software system for a niche segment of the market. It's taken years of effort and thousands of hours of my time. The space is validated and there are multiple competitors who are doing similar things as me and doing well.Being able to converse on questions related to one's project is pretty important in this community or any software community. We share our sites and ask for feedback.My ProblemWhat I'm finding is that I'm able to start conversations with some of you, but then as soon as I post my website for you to have a look at, the discussion immediately ends.Admittedly, this is not a normal project for a solodev. Given the time that I've put into the platform, in my humble opinion, it doesn't look at like it's the product of a solo developer. As a result, when I reach out for help, I'm wondering if the person on the other end thinks that I'm a lot more established than I am and for that reason, doesn't want to provide help or advice as "he's already made it" or because "he should ask his team members or VC".When I post what I've been working on, I get downvoted to hell. The guy two minutes later who posts a website that he made on weebly with a .35 BAC gets upvotes, interest, and words of encouragement.I'm just like you. Honestly, I am. I'm grinding away trying to build something that will help people. Just because my homepage looks pretty or the fact that my software looks to be pretty full featured doesn't mean that I've even made a dime from it.Am I off base?
