I want to take the plunge but have reservations

I've seen many posts like this so I'm sorry for bringing it up again but each situation can be unique right?I'm 31, my wife stays at home with our two sons (4 and 2) and I bring home all of the income. I make 65k a year but have amazing health insurance and only pay about 100/month for the family. I've been doing IT related things (mostly networking) for 15 years and in my area IT doesn't really happen. I've really hit the side hustle hard this year compared to other years with more free time during the week (thanks covid keeping me at home and remote with work) and it's made about 6k so far. That isn't a lot but I've only completed 7 jobs across 5 customers, 2 of which I've had forever. All of my clients are local businesses within 30 minutes of me and it's very rural out where I am with large cities within 1 hour drives. There is a lot more business to be had but I'm afraid with covid and being the only income earner to jump into this with both feet. I find without any competition out here the business clients do need someone but they need them quickly and working my 9-5 makes that very hard to expand and not have conflicts in time. I do computer networking, server administration, PC repair, troubleshooting, security camera consultation, and general IT consultation. I've been looking into doing Manages Services on top of everything else but again with the time conflicts I'm concerned about losing clients. I have a great ability to get business when I try and there is definitely business to be had. Most of the people out here know little to nothing about IT but know they need it.With all of that being setup above my questions follow:When do you know it's time to take the plunge? (Hard to answer I'm sure)How do you cover your family health insurance when self-employed?Am I crazy for doing this all by myself? I've made my pricing work if I needed to add one or two workers in the future but I think I can do it alone for quite some time.I dislike my job severely and have many applications in at other businesses but now may be the time to just do this...Looking for suggestions or just something to think about that someone else has done.
