I wasn't planning on writing up a post for this - but currently the front page is complaining that we don't have enough non-bs posts. So here you go.Back in July I set a goal of making $1.With the intent of making a new product/service each and every month until I hit that goal. For the month of July I looked to re-do an old website that I had not put much effort into for years and that is https://motivationalwall.com/The problem I am trying to solve:I was sick and tired of finding HD wallpapers online that did not fit the typical screen dimensions of 1920x1080p, and so when you went to use them they would stretch and not look very nice.Actions I took:Used photoshop to create and edit 50+ images (updating from my existing library of photos for a total of 86 images)Most of the images were taken and modified from https://ift.tt/2nUvgnv which are offered for freeUpdated wordpress theme - currently using a free template called 'GK Portfolio'Added SSL so that I get HTTPS. Was able to do this for free using cloudflare. Highly reccomend this step as it is free, improves website load times, and helps with google search rankings.Updates all wordpress plugins and hooked up SiteKit - which is googles plugin to get analytics & adsense working on your wordpress site.Set up a plugin which tracks how many times users download a paticular wallpaper so I can see which are the most popular ones - Plugin Name: Delightful DownloadsThe results (past 28 days):Proof: https://ift.tt/3hgI8xr 32 unique visitors- 110 sessions- $0.28 madeHelpful lessons:Use the free tier of Cloudflare to get your free SSL certificate and https traffic (you don't need to pay your current hosting provider extra to get this)My initial page load speeds are not as fast as I want them to be often taking 1-3 seconds to load the site. I'm currently using namecheap and paying around $150 a year for hosting. They have by far been the best out of godaddy and hostgator. But I think the next website I will use AWS Lightsail to see if page load times can be improved.Next steps (if I decide to keep pursuing this idea):It's basically a numbers game. If I get 28c with 86 images, then I could get $2.80 with 860 images, or $20.80 with 8,600 images. I personally don't have the patience and found editing so many images in one go to be very tedious and boring. For the amount of effort involved to scale I don't think the time investment would be worth it.Happy to answer any questions you might have about getting a website up and running. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
