Some quick background info: I've been dreaming of being a photographer my entire life. I got into school for it; etc. I'm in my mid-20's, so I have plenty of time to develop my skills, etc., but I put off trying to build a real business because I worried that no one would buy my work and no one would care.I recently started selling prints. I've sold barely a handful, even though I've announced that a certain percentage is going to a local worthwhile charity that many people know about. I have several hundred social media followers, including friends that I've had for years who have some of their own businesses (not competing with mine; different work/art).I feel like I've spent SO much energy hyping up my friends, supporting their businesses, complimenting them both privately and publically, gone out of my way, etc., but for some reason, when it's MY time to shine, I get crickets?WHY is this? How are people this... dismissive? Is it a sign that my art sucks, they're jealous that I'm chasing my dreams, or are they just lame friends? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
