Can you patent a shoe design?

I mean a slightly (anything in clothing is more or less slightly) original way of assembling a look of pieces to make a shoe.I guess you have some copyright protection (?) for a shoe design, but can you patent the way you assembled the pieces of material in an original way? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
