I will explain the basic layout of this company. I am still in college so I am unfamiliar with the legalities, but I plan on doing as much research as possible. Since I am always on reddit and I believe hearing from other people with experience is the best way to gain insight, I wanted to turn here first to pretty much gather a general foundation of knowledge before I begin.Anyhow, this company pretty much has 3 levels. There are marketers, sales people, and then the boss. The marketers knock door to door or cold call to get leads and schedule appointments. Once appointments are scheduled, this potential customer meets with a sales person, in home, and is given an estimate on whatever project they wish to have done. This is called an estimate, but really is just a sales pitch. If the sales person books the job, a contract can be signed on the spot, a deposit is taken, and the rest is paid later. Once the contract is signed, what happens is subcontractors are found to do the work, and our company doesn't even actually do it. The biggest flaw in our company, the marketing side of things. I know what the problem is and I know how to fix it. My problem is I don't know the legalities of starting such a company and how to find subcontractors, but I haven't even started researching yet.My point of this post - is anyone familiar with such a business set up, even if not in the same scope of work? Does anyone have any tips for me before I start this path? I am still in college, about to graduate with a degree in applied mathematics, so I am still quite young, but this is something that I am very interested in doing. I would love any advice or insight. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
