Hey guys, I'm planning on starting a science YouTube channel (and all the other social media included, of course all handled by myself). The idea behind the channel is, producing very interesting videos about the most interesting or recent discoveries or papers in the field of biology, biochemistry or medicine (and maybe some other fields as well). What a video would look like?At first, we pick an interesting topic or in this case a paper which is about a "new" theory of consciousness, namely the cemi field theory. The video would start with a short intro, a basic introduction to the field, the theory or, for example the abstract or the history behind the field/theory/idea or experiments (for example here, we might go for all the other theories of consciousness, but dealing with them in detail would take an hour so it's really just a max. 1 to 2 min intro). The main part of the video would be discussing the paper itself. The end of the video would be the conclusion and and outro. This would make it a 10-15 minute video, because that is the attention span of a typical YouTube viewer. Why would this idea work?Well, basically because of curiosity.... and "click bait" (but not really click bait tho). The main reason is that people love watching all kinds of scientific stuff that just sounds super interesting. Take for example PBS Space Time. I love this show but do I understand all what is said in the video? Not even close. And still, I watch it. For when I clean the apartment for example or when I am curious about a specific topic. Also, there are several of those channels that have already shown that these kind of channels work. Old papers from physics/math or ideas. So all one has to do is, put it into an interesting envelope and give it to the people, figuratively speaking.Who am I and how did I get this idea?I am a biochemistry student and the idea is not a recent one. I had it for a longer time now but I had to wait and let it grow or more like "develop". Basically, what I do a lot is read papers. From boring ones, to interesting ones, to very basic ones to very complicated ones. And a lot of the time I read one of the more complicated paper, one which deals with a topic I am not very familiar with, I always wish there was a video explaining this paper, topic or the history and so on. One can gather a lot of resources from just this year. There is basically no end to the things one could put into a video. Lately I've read a ton of papers and reading those becomes easier and faster by the day.Who is the target audience?Everyone that is curious (or can be made curious). Students. Bored people. Procrastinating people. People that don't like reading a ton of text but would rather have the information delivered in packed chunks, by people who already sorted out all the important things that need to be highlighted. Pretty much everyone can be the target audience. What makes me able to do such a channel?Well I already mentioned that I am a biochemistry student, so there is that. Also, my english is close to perfect I would say (I am a german native and improvements can always be made, there is no doubt about that). Since I speak 2 languages I could translate them into german for the german audience or write the subtitles for both languages, also not a big problem. What I need:I need someone with a nice (soothing) voice and proper equipment, who would love to join this. If I don't find anyone (at first), I'd probably try it by myself, but since I don't really like the german accent (and mine is kinda strong) I'd rather not. But on the other hand I don't know if people actually "might" like the german accent or not, so I'd give it a shot anyway. The person who would do this job, would not need to do anything else.I would research, write, cut, animate, maintain and everything else. I would only need the voice lines from someone. If, by any chance, the channel grows into something promising, I can offer 50/50 partnership (but as we all know that might take a while or years and maybe even not work out at all).I hope the right person is gonna read this and join me on this project.A first video will be made in the future. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
