Is running a computer repair shop a good idea for a start-up?

Hi everybody!I would like to start my own business. But the thing is that I don’t really have a lot of savings that I could invest into something. Besides, I struggle to find a well-paid job for a while. So, I’ve been reading different subs and forums, and many people suggest doing something you are good at. So, I thought of opening a small computer repair shop. I think it’s an excellent idea since I’ve always been good at repairing different laptops, gadgets and mobile phones. My friends and family always asked me to fix their devices, so I bought my own tools. Now, it seems like purchasing my own set of tools is a long-term investment. So, I’ve started to Google how to open a small computer repair shop and found some tips:Chose a location and rent a small place — I thought of repairing everything at home. But it seems like a bad idea. Still, I’ve checked my neighborhood for similar businesses and couldn’t find anything like that. Besides, the cost for rent is now pretty low since many stores went out of business due to the pandemic.Think of marketing and how to advertise a new store — that’s actually something I struggle with. I do realize that TV ads will be too expensive and won’t give a desirable result. I think of using a spread-of-mouth technique. It seems like low cost and more efficient for local stores. Still, I need to think of details on how to do it.Think of where to get first customers — since my friends always ask me to fix something for them, I hope they can recommend me to someone too. Besides, if I create an account on social media, I hope they will write positive reviews.Get tools and special equipment — I’ve already mentioned that I purchased my own set of tools. Perhaps I will buy on credit some specific equipment.Provide some unique services — I was thinking of adding laptop and phone repair tracking software to allow customers to monitor each stage of the repairing process. So far, that’s all my ideas for this moment. Still, I would like to hear someone’s opinion too. Maybe I have missed something, and you can point out this. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
