Anyone started two small businesses at once? Any tips?

I am opening my small mens and womens online clothing store soon (stylish yet affordable and only online, so no high fashion runways or magazines) yet I also want to open an icecream truck but not the regular icecream trucks that you normally see in neighborhoods (more like a food truck). I dont want to say exactly what kind of truck it is in case a reader lives in my area (paranoid, yes I know) and I have a dilemma. I dont want to work for 5 years with my clothing line and then open the icecream truck. I am about to turn 23 soon. So I have the energy and no big bills and NO KIDS. People say you should only focus on one and work your regular day job but I put in a lot of work at my day job and then come home to work on my business. So would it be impossible to run two businesses? I cant keep working jobs for too much longer. I always lose interest fast and then reach the verge of getting fired because Id rather put my energy towards my own business. I really want to do both because I am in love with my ideas and my market response to the research on both. Im confident in both. I feel like at the most Ill wait a year after opening my clothing store, but 5 years? Thats too far for me. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
