What I’ve been working on during COVID - How I designed and started making ceramic slow feeders and water filtering bowls for pets.

I was laid off at the start of COVID. Prior to that, I worked as a mechanical engineer at a product design firm. I worked on projects with clients that were individual inventors to multinational corporations. I had always wanted to try and design my own product, so I figured now was as good a time as any.I was tired of cleaning our dogs’ water bowl out all the time, so I looked for a fountain bowl to buy online. I was only able to find cheap plastic models that required expensive proprietary filters. Unhappy with the options, I decided to make my own. Here is an album of the process.I have started selling on Etsy and sales have trickled in every now and then. It’s always exciting to get a new order or customer review! I don’t really have the ability to make them in high volumes so I haven’t tried to do much advertising or anything. It is still very much a side project that I will continue to work on, I don’t know it it will turn into a huge business or anything, but it has been a fun process so far. Most posts on here seem to be software/app related, so I wanted to share something different. Let me know what you think. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
