This month was a great month for my SEO business as my clients saw their ranks increase across the board and normally when this happens I get some sort of praise from my clients but this month after a great month I decided it was time to fire one of my clients. Yup, you read that right after weeks of abuse I finally told that client I'm done with their business and it's time to go our separate ways and although I was threatened after doing it I feel great about it.About 6 months ago I took over the SEO for this cleaning business and things were going great as me and the owner really connected and had a similar type of style in how we run our businesses. Eventually, however, the owner decided a few months in that it may be time to retire and sold his business to another cleaning company in the area who decided to keep me on for SEO purposes. Now while I was excited to start with new ownership I could already tell that me and the new owner just weren't going to click the same way as the old owner. During the first meeting, he constantly interrupted me which isn't a big deal as people have questions, but it was always something along the lines of "Mmm I'm not sure if I see the importance of this but go on" and much of the meeting continued in that fashion. Despite, the meeting not going the smoothest the new owner said he'd give it a shot even though he doesn't see the value in my service and continue forward to see how things go as I'd help the previous owner get to where he was and that at the time was enough for me but this was a mistake. No more than a week after this meeting did I receive a phone call from the owner saying how sales were down, and he would constantly remind me every second that my job was dependent on how good the business was doing at that moment. Each time he would call we would review the metrics to find that his SEO was continuing on the right path and that traffic was increasing or saw slight decreases but overall follow the given trend line we had discussed originally.Eventually things would become even more intense as he would constantly threaten me with pay deductions and firings up until the very last day I worked for him. then in the month of January right as his website hit the top of the second page after jumping 10 spots (yesterday to be specific) I finished the end of the month report and told the client "You know Jim I thank you for your services but I think it's best we go our separate ways as I don't feel comfortable working under your management. Thanks for everything signed Justin" and let me tell you was he furious. He called me the day later screaming and yelling telling me that if I left like this he would tell all the other businesses his buddies run and I would never find another gig. It worried me a little but honestly, I'd rather never work again than be treated like garbage and told that my living is in constant danger. It feels good to write this here too and sorry for the long rant I tried to keep it short as it's been going on for months. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
