I started "@techster.amman" in late 2020 for two reasons. I knew TikTok was the future and I had to get my slice of the pie. I also just wanted to know what it felt like to be "TikTok famous!" :PThis wasn't my first account on the platform however, as I initially downloaded the app in early January. Unfortunately none of my previous accounts took off the way I wanted them to.Starting OutSometime in early September I had set out to create financial literacy content aimed at GenZ. I kept putting off creating the first video but I eventually got around to creating it. Little did I know it was one of the best decisions I ever made!I stuck with the goal of creating 1 informative video everyday. However that plan only lasted for 2 days. I quickly realized that the audience I was trying to reach was almost nonexistent on TikTok - most kids under 12 simply don't care about managing money. In other words my content was terrible and simply not good enough. That led me to making much more simple content, I repurposed "motivational" and "cheesy" quotes from Pinterest, typed it out on screen, used trending music, and just stared at the camera [image]. I consistently uploaded 4 videos a day, and this formula seemed to work. Each video was averaging about 100 likes. From motivational quotes, the natural progression was to use motivational memes. I created a few videos using motivational memes like these. [image] The results were more promising, the eye catching graphics helped my videos get more popular (averaging around 150 likes now)One day I happened to make a video with a random meme I just found funny, tt had nothing to do with my niche but I still posted it. Somehow the video did more than twice as better than any other video I made. That's when it clicked. I was onto something.Bringing memes to TikTok was huge. I kept being consistent daily, and just posted memes I personally found funny. My account was growing well. Everything was going good.Looking back, I was the first "Meme TikToker" that also reacted to videos. The first video I reacted to was sourced from Reddit. After uploading my videos one day, I didn't expect anything different. That was until I got my first taste of real virality...Growth, Growth, Growth...The video where I reacted to another video was getting pushed really hard by the TikTok algorithm after a couple of hours. I was shocked. It hit 10k views, then after a couple of minutes it doubled... and doubled... and doubled!Within no time, the video was at over 100k views. It was amazing, my notifications were blowing up and I had thousands of people liking, commenting and following me.The video was still being pushed really hard, and by the time I woke up it already had over 1 million views!I kept up the consistency of my account, posting 10 videos a day (with a mix of memes and vids). Growth was really strong and everything was good. After i'd hit a milestone (like 5k followers), I would usually increase the amount of content I post. I currently post about 30 videos in a day.I managed to hit 100k followers exactly 4 months after my first upload, and I recently just hit 200k followers on Jan 1st (that was a great start to the year lol)Using the same upload strategies, I just kept grinding, and growth just followed. I currently have 217k+ followers, 66+ million account likes, and over 2600+ uploads. At one point, I used to get over 160+ million views every month (50ish uploads a day), however I have since temporarily reduced my daily uploads.ConclusionTikTok is an incredible platform and I highly recommend using it when trying to market your brand. That being said there are a few things I should make clear. TikTok isn't like Instagram. Followers don't really matter. Some videos of mine will barely get 2000 views, and some will easily reach millions (my most viewed video has 18+ million views).Technically, my follow count doesn't accurately reflect the size of my account. It's wildly unpredictable. Most of the time, accounts with millions of followers get less monthly views than my account. The tradeoff being they have a more loyal audience, and consistently get hundreds of thousands of views on each video. There is massive potential to make consistent income with TikTok if you're in the Creator Fund. I would be making a lot if I were in the fund. Unfortunately, I am under 18 and I live in Abu Dhabi (the fund isn't available here). Will I be able to monetize this? Hopefully. Will TikTok last? I don't know. Is this level of virality sustainable? I don't know. But one thing I do know is that I'm having fun.I wouldn't be able to get to where I am right now if I wasn't.Analytics see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
