How do i utilise cash in the short term effectively?

My family business has a property portfolio and we've managed to save a couple of hundred grand earmarked for this. However the market is currently in a place where I dont want to invest. This cash currently sits in a bank account.Is there a way i could invest this to generate some returns while I wait for the market to improve.
