Supply chain question / difficult decision. Help please.

Hi all, we’re in a tricky situation with a supplier and I need help on how to handle this. We invented a new product and are making most of it overseas but there is one component that is produced in the US. This US supplier is the only person in the world who makes their product or anything like it (they have patents) and it’s an important part of our product too.Working with the supplier has been difficult. He’s changed prices, misrepresented his products and output capacity, and is very difficult to get straight answers from. Lead times are insane (20+ weeks). So far our orders have been small so it’s been a headache, but not a problem. We’re about to place a large order and honestly I don’t think he’ll be able to deliver. He won’t tell us this. From my read he’s not a bad guy, just not good at business, but we’re concerned he’s actually going to ruin our business if we work with him. Because of his monopoly, we also feel out of other options.Advice, anyone? I’m not sure who to ask about this and this headache is quickly becoming more painful. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
