Figurines

I might have gotten ambitious but for our business management class we need to make a start-up and we thought of creating figurines for new aspiring authors. Basically we'll try to help them grow their book or story by creating figurines of the characters in their stories. And I've done my research, I can create a figurine with any of these materials PVC&ABS, polymer clay, Vinyl, Resin and Polystone. But I'm wondering if I can just 3D print it, to be honest creating 3d designs isn't the problem for me. It's how do I make said figurines, since I don't really know much in that area and I have little cash. Any advice?(I guess a part of me is dead set in doing this since I just really wanna do it. Like I can't explain why but I just wanna) see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
