I am a backend software engineer and I enjoy writing APIs for my job. However, every API I have written was for a platform that included a front end client and the API itself did not make sense without the platform.I'd like to build and monetize an API but I can't think of ideas that aren't trivial and already implemented (e.g., weather, restaurants, etc.) so I am soliciting this sub for inspiration.
