I know first hand the struggles of starting out in an online marketing company. The fear, the excitement and the nerves of meeting and starting work with new people, with new challenging projects and demanding clients.I'm not going to sugar coat this. The first few years were pretty rough for me. I struggled to stay organised, to be social with my co-workers and with marketing the products in general. However, I tried and I tried and I failed and I got back up again (cliche, I know) and something snapped, inside of me and I've finally came out of my shell and decided to be better, not just for the company but for myself. That's why I've piled a few of the best tips (that have helped me) to become better at my job and hopefully, they would help you too:Use apps/sites/tools/add-ons, like airtable, polymersearch or Excel, whatever your prefer, to organise your data and keep track of your work. I prefer using polymersearch because I seem to be able to organise data way better and I can look for things much quicker, almost like a visual search engine!Experiment - don't be afraid to try out things and see if they work, even if they don't! You just get back up and try something new.Speak up! When you feel like something could be done better or you have a certain preference that could be beneficial for your client, say it and they might just agree! Worst case scenario, they would say no and you would keep working on their idea.Participate in Reddit Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) sessions. You can really learn a lot from people on Reddit, I've learned that myself and I guess so are you if you're reading this.Set milestones. We have a natural tendency of shooting for the stars and establishing challenging goals. It’s okay to be bold when setting goals to improve work performance. The problem is that big projects can become overwhelming. Setting milestones can help you achieve those moonshot goals whether personal, professional, or both.By breaking those big personal and professional projects into smaller goals, you’ll stay motivated with each victory you achieve.Setting individual success metrics to analyze your goal is also very helpful to keep morale and energy levels up. Keep track of your progress, allow yourself to enjoy your success (as small as it may be) and share it with your team.Using something like ASANA or Clickup to set milestone, or maybe even write it in a notebook! Most people claim they’re experts at multitasking, but the only thing multitasking actually does is compromise the quality of work. Click up is my favorite personally. I save notes on notion.Even though it feels like multitasking allows you to accomplish more, it actually does quite the opposite. Whenever you start working at more than one thing at a time, take a step back and determine which task is more important and focus entirely on it. Working on one task at a time makes you faster, less stressed, and less prone to making mistakes. 7.) Multi-tasking is a horrible habit, try to be aware of yourself when you start multi-tasking and tell your self to stop, as it can lead to great amounts of procrastination.Hope this was helpful and you guys got something out of it!
