Is making money a distraction?

Yeah, you read that right. As a decently paid wage slave with quite a chunk of change in my portfolio, I have come to realize how much of a distraction making money is! I'm sure you've known the feeling, coming home late, feeling drained, pouring time into investing or tomorrow's presentation instead. Seeing your net worth grow and knowing you are doing everything "right" by normal standards. And yet, for some people with that pesky itch, a life like this will never be fulfilling. We crave something more - more impact, more autonomy, more creativity. That is certainly the case for me. I've done one startup that crashed and burned, ending with me homeless sleeping in a car. I've done another as the first employee but was mediocre and I left for a great innovative consulting gig. Yet while my life is stable and prosperous, I don't know if I can ever be fully satisfied until I pull something entrepreneurial off from scratch - it's just how I am wired.I've been building up quite the "war chest" of ideas, customer research, prototypes, skills, talented friends, and even some investors! And yet, each day, there's another task, another stock, another reason not to move these ideas forward. My logical mind says DONT but my heart says DO. If could just take a break from making money, maybe then I could create something of real value.Does anyone else ever feel this way? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
