I work a certain number of hours a week for a brand new, indie OTT platform start-up in exchange for a small profit share (so not exactly equity) that is expected to be paid in the next five years, with no pay at the moment. They plan on streaming original and licensed documentaries and films about social issues (subscription model) and the target market is the US. The owners have decent connections to a few filmmakers and people in media and we currently have about 6k followers on our social media (tied to another media house under the same owners). The owners are hardworking but they are about a year behind on their original business plan, the platform is yet to be built and we have not secured any investors yet. Is it smart for me to invest my hours into this project for free in the hopes that the business would succeed in the next five years, given the recent success of OTT platforms? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
