Are the fees for square worth it??

Against the general advice of this sub I am planning on opening a restaurant hopefully in the next 6 months - 1 year. A few of the smaller restaurants i have worked for have used square as an all in one payment system, inventory system, payroll etc.As an employee i really liked using their system and figured as a business owner it would be nice to have everything streamlined, be able to accept apple pay and manage my inventory but their fees seem really high.Their rates are 2.6 percent plus 10 cents per transaction for an in person transaction and 2.9 percent plus 30 cents per transaction for anything done online. I can deal with the in person transactions but that 30 cents per online transaction is huge especially since i plan on doing counter service/ take out as my main source of revenue. My average price per order is projected at just over 10 dollars an order. Thats around 6 percent of my online revenue to online transactions which i expect to be about 40 percent of my business.I am not very tech literate. I am using spreadsheets right now to break down the cost of my menu items and i am doing pretty conservative sales estimates as well as building my menu and working on my pricing. I have vendors in place for 99 percent of my inventory.I do not want to spend the majority of my free time sitting behind a computer as my time could be better used to grow my business. However i am willing to sit down and manually enter these numbers into a spreadsheet each day since i know that as a business owner it would be my responsibility to make sure the business has everything it needs to operate efficiently>I have no idea how to manage a payroll. So that is another problem they would solve for me. This is all stuff i am working on learning before starting my business but it seems like square could be an all in one system. I would like to only learn one system so that if im successful in my business im able to do this on a bigger scale.Has anybody here had any experience with square? Are there better payment systems out there? Are the all in one features worth the fees?Would love to hear from anybody in the food industry on their thoughts or opinions on how to best navigate these issuesThanks! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
