How do you find a problem in a niche if you're never confronted with any?

Hi,In the past 6 years I've been building all kind of things as a Developer in an attempt to make it a full-time business. Nothing has really sticked except a small project I sold in the past. After a lot of introspection and thinking it is clear to me that a deep knowledge about a niche typically sets up founders for success.During the day I'm a full-time developer for a consulting company. The problem with this is that I'm on the more "executing" side of the equitation which causes me to never really meet or have an opportunity to talk to our clients about their issues and what things can make an impact in their niche.I thought about going into product development but that makes no difference in trying to achieve my goal as it would mean working at software that already solves a need. How could I "come in contact" with more issues as a developer? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
