Thoughts on 50/50 partnership?

I'm currently in the process of creating a clothing brand but with no physical product as of yet. I was speaking to a friend of mine who claims to have wanted to start a brand too (pendants instead of clothing). As we spoke about my clothing idea he wants to come on board and to be of help by being there for me to bounce ideas of him etc. and to take care of most of the marketing aspect of the brand. Granted he is good at marketing due to his current sales job, he's asking for 50% of the brand as he claims he wants to work on something which, in his eyes, is considered his as well as mine. He claims that he will put equal if not more effort into the brand than I. He isn't artistic so all of the designs and creative decisions will come from myself. I am asking you objectively if considering a 50/50 proposal is worth it from my perspective, or if it will cause too much hassle in the future. At the moment I don't view his support to be equal in comparison to mine and I'm unsure if I'm being selfish in thinking this way or not.Any advice would be appreciated see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
