Hi folks,I come here pretty often. Probably too often in fact. But during my time on the sub, I've been able to develop a profile of the average /r/entrepreneur member who is looking to start a business. These people usually have more questions than answers, which is fine, but in many of their posts, the primary motivating factor for wanting to start is money. The following is targeted at the average user on this sub and outlines why money isn't a good enough motivating factor for starting a business.Business is a long, hard journey. It can both brutal in its methods and devastating in its results. Your physical health, mental health, financial situation, personal relationships, and professional career may all take blows while you develop your side hustle and hope that one day, it'll all be worth it. While reality deals damage to other aspects of your life, you'll need some motivating force (or many) to keep pushing you through the challenges of business. In my experience, which is all I have, money isn't a good enough motivator. If you currently can't afford to eat or if a lack of money is causing you significant pain in your life, then this may not apply to you. For many of us though, we have office or factory jobs that provide us with a life where our basic needs are met. The driving force that you'll require for your journey will need to be stronger than that want of a new tv, car, or even house. The driving force that you'll need has to be strong enough, at most any point in time, to drive you to do that which is uncomfortable, sacrificial, and even mundane.Does an unstoppable force drive you? If not, you may not be ready to take on the world with your new idea depending on how ambitious it is. Feelings of ambition, desire for freedom, greed, jealously, or any combination of these, in sufficient quantity will give you the energy and motivation that you need to do what is required. What's your motivation and do you think it's strong enough to push you through to the end? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
