Hey everyone! Wanted to share my story and shed some light on what we’ve done to grow my business to $120k ARR (annual recurring revenue).BACKSTORYI was freelancing web design & development for a few years and started ~5 other online business ideas in the past (some SaaS, some services), but this was the first one that had solid success and continues to grow. The product came to life when one specific client needed a large amount of phone numbers for a marketing campaign he was doing. All the other call tracking solutions out there were way too expensive if you needed a bunch of phone numbers, so we found an API that had amazing pricing and decided to build the platform kind of on a whim.I am solid with design and know basics of HTML/CSS but am unfortunately not a developer. Luckily, I had a lot of experience in hiring contract developers from when I was doing freelancing, so I hired a guy overseas to help build out an MVP which took about 1-2 months. From there, it looked extremely barebones BUT functioned well, so we got it into the hands of our first few customers and have been iterating from there ever since (and it looks like 20x better now haha)FIRST CUSTOMERSWe honestly got a lot of our first customers from talking in Facebook groups and doing some soft promotion in there. Mostly if people were asking questions, we'd help them and if anyone were to ask about a recommendation for call tracking software, we'd try to swing in a comment to mention ours.We had a really good cost comparison to a lot of competitors so that was our main competitive advantage to start (although we are trying to graduate out of being the cheapest alternative).MARKETING TACTICSMainly we have done a bunch of work in SEO. This has been fun. I highly recommend Surfer as a tool to use for SEO. We rank #1 & #2 for a few good keywords and we’re currently bouncing between ranking 6 to 10 for the term “Call Tracking” which would be an absolutely money term to be in the top 3.Our strategy was to create content that had a score of 70 or above on Surfer SEO and use their guidelines to determine how many words a page should have, how many times a keyword should be mentioned and much more. For backlinks, we would sometimes talk to people about doing guest posts, sometimes purchase PR packages and guest post packages from sites like Legiit to boost our rankings as well. It's pretty fun to see your website climb through the ranks, to be honest. Excited to see how far we can take SEO as we get a decent amount of traffic from it now.CLOSING NOTESPlease feel free to comment below with questions if you're wondering anything else!LAST THING... I do have one big favor to ask. I just launched another SaaS on ProductHunt today called Unison Video https://ift.tt/3ifQKqt - Do you mind taking 2 seconds to shoot me an upvote and/or comment? I will send you flowers and heart-shaped chocolates if you do 😉 see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
