I know that by posting this question in r/entrepreneur I may get more biased responses, but please try to put yourself in my shoes and acknowledge personal bias before responding.I work for a large global energy company and make a good salary. For over a year I have been working on my own business on the side, which I will be starting next week. I plan to do both jobs until my own business is successful enough that I can quit my old job.My motivation for starting my own business was a deep desire to build something that would outlast me and that I could one day pass on to my children. The chance that my family could one day be financially independent is one of the most beautiful and comforting thoughts I can imagine. However, today I was offered a new position at my company where I will be part of a team supporting a global business leader in the development of an entirely new product line. The department reports directly to the CEO, so it is a high priority for the company. I realize that this is a unique opportunity and I am very grateful for it. In addition to an even better income, I would be able to make contacts worldwide, which would give me good opportunities to advance even further in the corporate world. Now I am undecided about my path. Of course, building a business is much riskier and the chances of success are probably much lower than in my new position. But the dream of building a thriving family business is deep within me.I hope some of you can relate to my situation and give me some feedback or insight into your experiences. Thank you so much! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
