Last year I was approached by a young female entrepreneur for our VA services. We had a long discussion about how we can manage her social media feeds and manage her online presence.She was an incredibly creative person but unfortunately, she often received disturbing perverted messages on her DMs and social media accounts. She wasn't even an influencer or was in the beauty industry. It was taking a toll on her soul. We offered to filter all that and communicate only the positive messages and constructive criticisms. We advised her to get off social media entirely, focus on her work and just maintain a slack channel with us.She didn't have much funding during that time and she promised to come back to us. So, after some time I tried to check if she was still interested but only to discover she had closed all of her accounts and gave up on her dream entirely.I really felt sorry for her. People are terrible and some of the messages a small business owner gets really ruin their day. I don't get perverted messages but man, words hurt.
