How do I tell my business partner in a professional way that I don’t want politics to be apart of our partnership?

Pretty straight forward. I am entering a new business venture with an (older) existing owner who is bringing me on to grow the business with my skills. He is a smart businessman and I genuinely enjoy his knowledge and advice but we definitely don’t see eye to eye when it comes to politics. I don’t have a problem with working with someone who has different political views but I don’t want it to play a role in our business or our conversations. I certainly don’t want it to be customer facing as well. He is very involved and passionate about politics which worries me that I might offend him if I tell him I don’t really want to mix politics and our business relationship.It would be great to get any advice or recommendations on how to let him know that we should leave politics at the door.
