Rsources to use creating your own social media platform?

Long story short, I'm wanting to create my own social media platform. I got the idea, goals, and main structure of what it would be and look like down, but I don't exactly know where to actually start on making & building the site. I kknow there are sites like Wix & Squarespace, but I'm not sure on how good they'd be for actually creating a full blown site, and not just a blog or shop.Any suggestions and recommendations would be really helpful.
