Joined a startup, Equity question, no stock options

Hello, I need some help on how to acquire the equity I was promised. So I joined a startup (LLC) and after negotiations, we verbally agreed for me to acquire 20% of the business, vested over 4 years. We are 3 people with no much money in the company yet and I got a few equity vesting contract templates from friends. However, they all contain a “type of equity reward” which as far as I know, there are only 2 types where it always include stock options. How do I create a contract where we can establish that I get 5% at the end of every fiscal year for the next 4 years if we don’t have stocks yet?Can I just put “percentage” near type of equity reward and say “1/4 of Vesting Shares shall be vested on January 1st, every year, for the next four years.”? see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
