Can you suggest to me some tips get payment from the client without getting scammed?

Let's start with a basic description. I am 18 and got into LinkedIn around 3 weeks ago. I actually got a shoutout from someone with over 500 connections, so I got some connections and profile views. The guy uploaded a GIF made by me along with the post so it got a lot of views and likes. Among them, I was contacted by a company and they wanted me to make a short creative video. It sounded like a good offer as the starting point of my career. The next day I had a meeting and then they hired me to make a video for $400. The video was supposed to be like 20 seconds long but they told me that any length is fine so I made a 59-sec video. The video was ready, 3 days after the meeting. But then I did something that I shouldn't have. I uploaded the video on google drive and then sent the link to the guy to check if anything needs to be changed. He complimented me a lot and told me that he will review it with his team over the weekend and give me feedback. But now everyone in my family is saying that I shouldn't have sent him the actual video before getting paid or should have sent him a watermark version. Even though they responded back and haven't done anything like blocking and stuff, I also think that what I did was pretty stupid. Its my first project in my life and I haven't been scammed before so I didn't have any experience. What do professionals do about asking for money or sending the product for review? How do you do that? What seems professional? I don't want to get scammed but at the same time don't want to be rude and lose the clients. Thanks, and please let me know!!!!!! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
