Hi Reddit entrepreneurs!I quit Google about a year ago to build useful web projects. I love the web, it has changed my life completely. It has had a huge impact in my life, including the way that I think, work and socialize, in ways no other thing has.When at corporate, I was in sales but always wanted to transfer to the product or engineering role. I was a specialist selling and optimizing online ads for large customers and startups. I had considerable success at creating ad campaigns that brought positive ROI for years. I often did everything from customer calls, pitching, to implementation and measurement. I worked with 50+ companies, answered 15000+ user questions and earned XXm$ for the companies I worked for.The desire to build for the web became a passion long ago, but I acted on it inconsistently. At first I couldn't quit my day job, leaving me with not much time as a consequence. Then the problem shifted to not having enough energy, mostly because of my lifestyle (a lot of Dublin beer and not so much physical exercise and stretching).It was really hard for me to stay consistent. In 15 years I launched one product and never tried to promote it. This time, before quitting, I started with proper research and preparation (took 4 years since I decided this is the way): I learned to code the frontend, manipulate the database, create and edit figma prototypes, and organise the work processes (highly recommend Clickup for that btw). I created some additional projects for my main work just to understand how to develop a project independently from my bosses (they didn’t want me to do such things). I also was saving money to quit my day job and have time to stay dedicated towards something really good. I changed my lifestyle - became minimalistic with things I own, did a lot of sports including cycling and stopped smoking / drinking beer. Became consistent in that. And I try to focus on consistency everyday.At Google I ended up co-creating a report system (from idea to launch) that was used by internal employees from 50+ offices and later integrated into Google's global sales CRM called Connect Sales. Quite a success even though it was unrecognized by my direct org. This project gave me a bit more confidence that I'd be able to survive independently, without a big company.And now I'm happy to tell you that I'm launching an electric bike comparison website that took almost a year to build, called electricbike24.comDid you know that nearly 3 in 5 private car trips in the United States were shorter than 10 kilometers?I'm a huge electric bikes fan and I wondered why there's no place to compare all these brands and models together. So I and my technical co-founder built one. If you're looking for an electric bike, this is the place that helps you to compare and choose between 300+ different models and 50+ brands.I looked for some preliminary feedback and got a few from Redditors. Those few have said this project deserves publicity. I would like to share one with you: “Your site would be brilliantly useful to anyone looking to buy an ebike. I wonder if you could add owner satisfaction in some way, or maybe that would be too cumbersome. The site is a great tool as it is.
