Hi gang, I'm big fan of the community - please help!I hired a contractor to write a whole specification document for my new software idea - a project that was expecting to last a couple months. Obviously a huge amount of time was spent explaining it all to him and for him to ask questions about the project etc etc and we finally started making some progress after it took him a while to fully grasp it....2.5 weeks later he says he's gotten a new gig and won't be able to finish the job that we agreed upon. I spent a bunch of time with him that is now going to waste and he is expecting full payment for his time. I of course accept there is a sunk cost with the learning part of the role, but as it is his choice to move on, it is a sunk cost that I have to also spend with someone else. I also think he is overcharging me for the minimal deliverables that he has completed. Am I liable for the full amount or do I have a right to push back? Your thoughts are appreciated. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
