This is my take, there's no one size fits all for this type of stuff. So take everything here as one persons experience. Also, this may be absolute bullshit that doesn't make sense for some people. But one thing I can promise, is that it is my experience since I took the leap 14 years ago. There is no link to a program or webinar here. It's just someone who is further down the road of entrepreneurship sharing a story after 2 glasses of red wine in lockdown. This is not about having the latest tech company. This is about having a business that pays the bills and puts you in the driver seat. And trust me, the driver seat isn't necessarily going to make you happy.I strongly believe that having a business is extremely demanding. There has to be a really good reason for going to the lengths it takes. It's really hard. It's a journey that will most take you to the very bottom of your emotions, and to the very top hopefully. In-between those emotions is extreme loneliness. Basically life on steroids. Higher highs, lower lows, and lonelier loneleys. You have to work with the the very real chance that all of this will be for nothing. I think that's why you need some fundamentals in place before embarking on this mission put you in control of your life. And don't forget, you'll also need to be in control of others lives. A big undertaking. For some of us though, we need this responsibility. Here is my fundamental belief. It's a belief that I have had since the beginning. When I was starting my journey I tried to make sense of what a business was. This is what I came up with some 14 years ago. This is my explanation of what value is. Value is the language of business.I imagined a tribe of cave-people, let's just say 50'000 years ago.. One of them would get the meat (hunter), one of them would chop the meat (butcher). Some others would get berries other plant matter to eat. Some would build shelter. Everyone has a role in the community. Now, if the hunter couldn't get the meat, the tribe would need to either get somebody new to get the meat, or die of starvation.. Simple. These days this translates to sales. The hunter was the person who would solve the problem of keeping the tribe alive. A big undertaking. Of course others were important. But if you want to keep the butchers butchering, and the berry pickers picking, they need that meat for energy. So for me, I always imagined myself as this hunter. I also didn't see any tribespeople sitting around the fire investing dollars in future meat stocks. I've always kept it simple. Find your value in the community. If you don't find that value, you'll know pretty quickly. If you asked the tribe hunter how they got the kills, I believe fundamentally it would be the same answer as an asking an entrepreneur how they have a business. They did what had to be done. And if they didn't you wouldn't be asking them. It's hard to make a blueprint to success when the blueprint is survival. This is why most successful entrepreneurs were poor. They found something that people needed and they did what most people wouldn't. Because if they didn't, they would face extreme hardship. When you go into business, you need to realise that the people you are competing against may be driven by not wanting to be poverty stricken. These people will never quit. The alternative to making it work for me was going to be a life of drinking and drugs and quite possibly death because of how much I despised my life. I had to, and the people you are up against, may very well be up against the same thing. You don't need to ask yourself if you have what it takes, you have to ask yourself, do I have enough willpower to provide a better product\service\idea and execution than the other people doing the same thing that you are trying to do.Pretty dark, I know, but for me it's reality. Do the hard things, and don't stop. Fail, fail, and fail again. I did. The best way to succeed is too fail. Try to fail small, test things before investing too heavily. Failing large can sink you. I remember losing $10'000 at the start, it was all I had, I remember the feeling. It was reality slapping me. Reality will be right there next to you the whole way through your journey. You may be used to your family/friends/teacher telling you it's ok. You're doing a good job. Step into the business ring, and reality will king hit you so hard that you'll never listen to anyone again. ASell your thing with conviction. Whatever it is, sell that shit. How do you sell? Figure out what the problem is, and provide a solution. Sell it like it's the meat that they need to survive. If you aren't worried about it when you get home, worry about it. Make it your life. If you don't, you can bet someone else is. And if they are, then you're fucked. Friends sick of you talking about it? Well, welcome to obsession. You might have to drop them. Don't worry, you'll make friends in business, they'll care.At the end and you finally made it? now you're a workaholic, Nothing else touched the sides. You need to get back to work everyday. Now you aren't comfortable at home. There's nothing happening at home. Life seems dull unless you're out there talking to people, being out there in your chosen field. Everyone in your old life will be difficult to talk to. They won't understand. You'll be lonely. But fear not, You've reached the next level. You've reached un-obligation. You'll need to learn how to deal with this. Basically, having drinks with your old mates on a Saturday night won't be an option. You see, no matter how far you go down the success route, there is a never-ending hole. Most learn that the only thing that brings joy is helping others. Got $50'000 spare? I'm a guy, and for me I spent some time spending time buying useless shit, doing coke, banging hookers. That stuff doesn't last. The only thing that I've realised is that we have two states. We are in service to others (helping others) or we are in service to our own desires (hookers, drinking, drugs). Now, The only thing that I like to do, is help others. So I've come all of this way and the only thing I have left to do is help others. So people, I want you to know, as I and many other business people have found. There is literally nothing else in life. We help ourselves, or we help others. If you aren't doing one of these things, then what the fuck are you doing. So you may be able to change your life, but please realise, cars, houses, gucci handbags will never fill that hole. I own as little as possible. Want a house? Pain in the arse. Telling your friends you made $10'000 today will only bring resentment. If you want to be rich and successful, just understand that it comes with downsides. It comes with responsibility. You are now responsible for the people that work for you. This can be a positive though. I mean, I constantly look after my emotional health purely because I know that if I go into work, and I'm grumpy, the whole work will feel my grumpiness. Hence, I always try to be healthy and upbeat.By the way, I started as an alcoholic, drug addicted chef, My mate got hold of some mattresses, now it's 14 years later and I have a mattress factory. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
