Advice on how to manage clients

I'm helping my brother build up his service based business. I've been given the responsibility of handling all the client administration work and being the face of client relations. It is very crucial to my position that I know each client's business needs at all times and be able to anticipate their future requirements as well as our work relation history in the past, not to mention having to do the financials, project plans, and communications for each client. The clients are soon to be more than one can count with two hands, and I am panicking already on how to find the best way to get all the information relevant to our clients in one place. Can someone who works or worked previously in such a setup recommend to me easy to use softwares that are out there at my disposal. I work in a very technical field so I need something that is geared for maintaining fine details and times. The best I way I know how right now is Hand-written files and binders, or Excel sheets. More important than software, what are the best practices in this type of field - any book recommendations.Sorry if this post is not relevant to this subreddit. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
