I’ve been a content writer for two years. When I go to networking events, the men there don’t take me seriously.I get it. I’m in my mid 20s, look younger than that, and it makes people chuckle when they see me in business attire. Yet, I run a business successfully. I can’t post a LinkedIn article without some middle aged man telling me I must be too inexperienced to know when I’m talking about (in reality, they’re challenging my current info based on their decades-old conventional wisdoms). I can’t go to an event without being gatekept - I’m not really a business owner if I haven’t worked for this type of client, in that type of setting. I don’t deal with this from women.Any advice for attending networking events without being shot down? I stopped going because I’d see I’d be the only women there, or one of two women there.EDIT: whoops, forgot to clarify that I’m a woman see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
