I see a lot of people on here building websites on Shopify, Wix, and other platforms like Weebly that tend to be more basic platforms that allow individuals to get into website design at a base level. Now those are great don't get me wrong and if you or your client uses those and aren't planning on switching over you can still produce solid results but after working in SEO for a few years I 100% believe switching to WordPress is the best move I made in my SEO career for both me and my clients for a few different reasons in which I'll list below.A Deeper Level Of Control--- Sites like Wix and Weebly tend to be basic in nature which is good as you don't have to worry about things like security or server maintenance, but bad in the sense that you'll be limited in the amount of control you truly have. Wordpress supplies you with a larger variety of plug-ins that can be used while also giving you control of sites at a server level allowing for more or less data space to be allocated to a certain website.Designing/Customization---- This goes hand in hand with plug-ins but Wordpress allows for much more customization than website builders like Wix and Weebly. On top of having more design plugin options, Wordpress allows individuals to implement things such as shortcode or even full-on code a website from scratch which although can be a more technical approach still allows for more customization. Just a note to those who don't code, you'll still be able to use wordpress with plug-ins like Elementor which still allow for better features than anything Wix or Weebly has to offer.Pricing----- This is by far the biggest piece of the puzzle as paying for Weebly sites cost me an arm and a leg when I first started out they charged me $150 a year per website for their professional plan. I currently work with 10 SEO clients optimizing and ranking their websites, and if I did it all on Weebly that would end up costing me $1500 a year just to have their websites exist. In fact, it's so expensive that most clients who have had their websites with me for over 5-10 years pay back the entire cost of the site just by what they save on hosting. It sounds like a long time but you have to remember most people pay to have a website designed and then pay yearly for hosting on top of that. Hosting with my current provider and using WordPress through them cost me roughly $200 and I can host up to 500-600 sites with no additional fee. So as you can see that alone makes it vastly worth it and the plans for individual sites can be even cheaper. These are just my takeaways everybody is different but for those of you starting out, I would hate to see you throw your money away thinking there is no alternatives to expensive sites like Wix or Weebly who charge an arm and a leg just for hosting. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
