Hi I live in England and moved/relocated from one side of the country to the other about 3 months ago. In short, I want to meet people and thinking of setting up some social media channels to do fun stuff with others that are local with shared interests.I love the outdoors, socialising, sports, exercise and fitness. So I’m thinking of setting up an Instagram page where local people in the area come together to do weekends away together. It could be things like camping with paddle boarding, surfing, cycling etc.Although I wouldn’t want it to be “corporate”, I’d want to make a bit of money out of it but the focus will still be on the social aspect than me treating it as a proper business. For example, I organise the weekend, bring everyone together and then ask for a small amount of money on top for organising the logistics behind everything. Is this unethical though to be trying to make a bit of money out of it?For context, I work from home most of the time and have one housemate who has introduced me to people in the city but I’m effectively the “friend of the friend”. For example if we were going to do stuff as a group, I’d ask her to message “her” friends rather than “my” friends. Also we usually go out drinking and to nice restaurants which is great but I also have an adventurous, outdoorsy side that loves exploring and pushing myself whether that’s cycling far, running far, swimming in cold water far or just generally pushing the boundaries of my mind and body in nature.
