What is your favorite marketing scheme and why?

Whether it’s something simple or complex, what is a marketing scheme a company, you, someone you know did that has really stuck with you? My personal favorite is the “A diamond is forever” campaign, but a close second is Apple’s “Get a Mac” campaign. For those who don’t know about the first, essentially a diamond had no significance nor regard to marriage. After sales dropped instrumentally during the Great Depression, the diamond was rebranded in a campaign to signify marriage, and the size of the diamond correlated with the proposer (man’s) worth and how he viewed/loved his partner. This was exceptional because it utilized turning a frivolous item into a necessity, to say the least. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
