Confused about DAP shipment I'll be receiving in the US

Everything I sell is imported. I'm buying from this new supplier and he is insisting on DAP and DAP only. Now I have always insisted on DDP. It's worth the extra cost.I just dont know what I need to do with DAP. I've read about it online but is confusing. I know that the seller is responsible to the destination and export, but the buyer is responsible for import cost.Problem is I can't find any information on how to do the import. Do i get papers with the shipment I need to fill out? Will they hold the shipment at the port for payment? Do i just pay it on my taxes at the end of the year?
