Most people in this sub know that building before you validate is an easy way to fail. Although I still see posts and comments where people are building without getting any real feedback on their problem & solution. Sometimes it’s even obvious that their product is trash. I think people know they need to do this but are unsure how to go about it properly. For anyone who needs some guidance (or reminding), this post is for you.So let’s get started.Firstly, entrepreneurs with successful businesses usually aren’t smarter, harder working, or any more special than the rest of us. They’ve simply done the following tasks:Found a problemFound a market that’s growing where the customers are willing and able to pay for the problem to be solvedFound a way to actually solve this problem efficiently and profitablyThe problem:If you’re unsure where to find problems, here are three easy methods:Read 1-3 star product reviews on Amazon or eCommerce websites. Anyone leaving a 1-3 star review has obviously experienced a problem with the product. Here’s your chance to find a problem worth solving.Dig into subreddits, they’re goldmines. A great example is copywriting or blogging subreddits. A lot of people experience writer's block. It’s a huge problem. More on this later.Scratch your own itch. Which problems do you face every day? This is exactly how I started tickernerd.com (which has since been acquired). I was sick of my friend sending me 5-10 articles a day on stocks, I didn’t have the time to keep up so we decided to scratch our own itch. The market:Once you’ve found a problem you need to identify whether your potential customers are willing and able to pay. Make sure the answer to the following questions is yes.Is the market growing?Do my potential customers have any purchasing power?Would my potential customers pay to have this problem solved? An example of a worthless niche/market: Job seekers, they’re likely broke or money conscious. An example of a great niche/market: Property, it’s growing, competitive and most people involved in the property market have money to spend. The solution:It’s pretty easy to come up with a solution to the problem, there are likely many that already exist. However, you need to be confident you can actually solve the problem well.Circling back to the problem of writer's block, there are tonnes of GPT Powered AI Copy tools solving this. However, only two seem to be leading the market (Copy Ai and Jasper). This is because the teams working on them are well equipped to do so. They’re winning because of their technical expertise, marketing skills, funding, and first-mover advantage.Validation Process:It’s now time to speak to customers and see what they think. Here’s exactly how you can validate the solution to your problem (your business idea):Build a basic landing page using carrd or webflowUse the AIDA method to write the copy that will pre-sell your solution or physical productCreate a gumroad account and embed a button as the CTAUse optinmonster to create an email signup form so people can leave their email address if they’re hesitant to purchaseCreate 5-10 relevant posts on Reddit or in Facebook groupsSponsor a relevant email (use letterwell to find one)Personally email everyone who leaves an email or pays and ask them why they signed up, what they’re expecting with the final product, etc.If you’re still skeptical about this working, I can leave a comment with a web archive link to our first-ever landing page that made about $1.2k in presales in the first week. see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
