For those of you who've ran afoul of your investors or business partners, what were some (non-violent) things they did to screw you over?

I've heard some pretty dark tales of deals gone awry, that's been one of the main reasons why I've avoided taking money from outsiders in the past. One including a nightclub owner who fell out with his backers. His investors began sending under age kids to his clubs, paying the security staff to let them in. Eventually his license was revoked which left him in a world of debt. I've heard of another where people were paid to follow a guy and his family round for months to the point he had a nervous breakdown, through 24/7 gaslighting by a group of PIs who'd keep appearing outside his offices and at restaurants where he ate. The kind of tricks that the super wealthy can get up to are pretty crazy without resorting to violence or threats.
