I’m so grateful to have been able to land a part time position on the marketing team of a largely successful fast-casual restaurant in my home state of Florida (they have 24 locations and the owner is investing as co-owner in several other different kinds of restaurants, chefs, and even non-food businesses across Florida).I have over 10 years of video production experience (but no college degree) from mostly filming, editing and lighting. I lived in LA for 7 years, 4 of those years working with a big YouTube channel. I’m constantly learning new things on YouTube currently too.The business I’m with has asked me to help start a YouTube channel with them and a couple coworkers who would be on camera with different chefs and restaurant, bakery, winery, and brewery owners talking about their business and answering interview-like questions. The set up is 2 cameras, pro lighting, b-roll, and final editing of up to 15 minute episodes. After shooting 1 video (still being worked on) I’ve decided to go all out and invest my own money into professional gear like Aputure lighting, c-stands, a 2nd camera, bounce boards, some small accent lighting, and recently filed my own business as an LLC.Why an LLC? I’ve noticed my work is worth much more than my regular hourly rate of $23/hour as a part-time W2 employee. My goal is to build relationships with these chefs and business owners to then offer more videos besides the interview but charge separately under my creative business. I also invested in a company polo, business cards and a website to complete the look and credibility. My current employer hasn’t had an issue with it.So my question for you guys is, how much should I charge for a video? Assume a 1 minute and 2 minute video separately (for social media) assuming business owners contact me to do commercials and promotional videos for them.Below is a sample of some b-roll footage I took for an interview of a chef it’ll be added into. You can get an idea of my work. By the way, to state the obvious, yes I shot in 120 FPS for slow motion… give the people what they love and want 😂Let me know your thoughts and how much I should be charging.Video: b-roll sample footageThanks! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
