How do you pitch to your friends/colleagues without sounding too greedy

I don't know if greedy is the word, but I'm basically building a startup right now and have some people in my network who could not only be of great value to my startup, but I could also definitely provide value back (to be honest, probably not a ton of value initially, but it has potential as most startups do). But the thing is, I feel like if I text them 'I have an opportunity' or something along those lines, I'll instantly just seem sketchy and/or greedy (if that's the right word), and they'll instantly be turned off.
